Hey everyone. I know it's been awfully quiet around here, but I have in fact been working! I still do Angular at work (although I also do a lot of other stuff), but haven't had the time to just blog like I did a year ago. One reason is what this post is about.
I'd like to announce a project I've been working on called Race Crew. You can check it out at https://racecrew.co.
Race Crew is a mobile app designed to help make the race day experience better for runners and spectators. I enjoy running, and have done several marathons, half marathons and even multi-day relay races. These events are so much fun when people come cheer you on, but it's always a hassle to know where your runner is, and if you're running, where the people cheering you on will be. Race Crew makes that all super simple.
What I think is cool, especially for readers of this blog, is Race Crew is an Ionic app, which means it's written in Angular but still provides a native-like experience. It's also powered by Firebase, which makes a real-time application relatively simple to build. I'm very close to publishing the first versions of the app, so if you're interested in being one of the first users please sign up for the beta.
I'm really curious to get some overall feedback on the idea too, so please sound off in the comments if this app sounds interesting to you.
